Attorney Todd Peterson is a Utah Licensed Attorney and the founder of Peterson Legal PLLC. Todd has been practicing in Utah defense for over 11 years and has helped hundreds of clients navigate the often stressful and confusing legal system.

History

After graduating from BYU with a bachelors in Economics, Todd attended Seattle University School of Law in Seattle, Washington. Upon completing his first year of law school, Todd transferred back to his home state of Utah to finish up law school. He graduated from the S. J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah with his Juris Doctorate. During law school, Todd worked as a law clerk for Salcido Law Firm. He also interned at the Salt Lake Immigration Court.

Employment

Upon being admitted to the Utah Bar, Todd continued working for Salcido Law Firm practicing primarily in criminal defense and family law. Todd has had the great opportunity of working with hundreds of clients and helping them in some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Additionally, Todd has traveled throughout Utah appearing in justice, juvenile, and district courts and has developed relationships with judges and prosecutors alike. Because of this experience Todd can help you feel more comfortable in your criminal case and help you be ready for what is to come. 

Todd also has experience in the business and corporate world firstly managing foreclosure cases for a large mortgage service provider, developing a deep understanding of the complexities involved in real estate transactions, mortgage origination, and regulatory compliance. This role honed Todd’s analytical and negotiation skills, enabling him to navigate challenging situations while protecting the interests of all parties involved.

In addition, Todd served as a corporate attorney for a silicon valley tech start-up, where he specialized in drafting contracts and negotiating deals involving ranging matters from standard warranty, indemnification, and liabilities as well as more complex areas such as data privacy, artificial intelligence, and security. This position required a thorough knowledge of legal frameworks and best practices related to information management, ensuring that the company's operations complied with industry standards and regulations.

At Peterson Legal, Todd has founded a firm that leverages his diverse background and extensive experience to instill a culture of practices that focus on the highest level of customer satisfaction. His commitment to providing exceptional care for clients ensures that their interests are safeguarded to the fullest extent. Understanding the difficulties of facing legal challenges, he is dedicated to alleviating stress for those he represents. Outside of his legal practice, Todd enjoys playing music and spending time outdoors with his partner and three sons.
